On to 2015!

So, here we are- The beginning of a fresh New Year.

I hope everyone had a brilliant Christmas and a great start to 2015 ๐Ÿ™‚

I thought about doing a round up post for 2014, but when I look back on it I was pretty overwhelmed. Not only did I achieve so much that Iโ€™m proud of, but I met so many incredible new friends and authors!

In December I did sit down and think about where I was heading in 2015, and how I was going to get there. 2014 was great, but I will admit I was all over the place. It was my first year at writing, blogging, publishing, reviewing, etc!

This time around I feel a little calmer and organised about it all ๐Ÿ˜€ I have a good plan going forwards.

Last year I got caught up in trying everything and, though it was great to learn so much, I need a more streamlined approach going forwards.

I have a new blogging schedule planned, a better timetable for publishing my books, ideas for improving my writing, but the main thing that caught me last year and gave me unbelievable amounts of stressโ€ฆ

Marketing.

Ah, yes. Marketing.

It really was a hate/hate relationship. I didnโ€™t like doing it, you guys donโ€™t like reading or seeing it ๐Ÿ˜€

So, this year, I have decided to take a different strategy for it. I realise it has to be done, but why should it give me such intense grief as it did last year? So, I have a much better plan in store for that, which involves focusing much more on reviews and visual marketing, trying to make it more fun rather than a chore.

Before this turns into an essay, I will just say that I am back and raring to go for 2015! I think itโ€™s going to be an excellent year for us all!

I am gradually catching up with everyoneโ€™s blogs, which I have missed reading ๐Ÿ™‚

So, whilst I catch up and try to get back into the routine, I hope you all have a fantastic start to the New Year and have already made great progress!

How was Christmas? Did you have a good start to the New Year?

Christmas was okay, New Years was pretty awesome. Looking forward to seeing what 2015 might have in store.

    • It really is like that, isn’t it? ๐Ÿ˜€ Catching up with everyone again after the holidays!

Glad to hear you had a good New Years, hope the rest of the year is just as awesome!

    • Glad to hear you had a great Christmas and birthday! ๐Ÿ˜€ I did too! I have to admit, I do love the double dose of pressies that comes from having bday and xmas in same month!

Hope the start of your year has been an awesome one ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Marketing is something that quite a few people seem to loathe! But it has to be done, so it’s all about finding a way that works for you, right? ๐Ÿ˜€

Hope the start of your year has been a great one!

  2. 2014 was my first year of blogging too, and I’m grateful that the new year gives me the chance to look back and make some improvements. Hopefully a year’s experience will make my blog a better read. ๐Ÿ™‚ Happy new year!

    • It’s all about gaining experience and moving forward with it. It’s amazing how much you can learn simply by just going feet first into something! ๐Ÿ˜€

Hope you have a great 2015!

  3. I had a fab Christmas thanks Mishka, hope you did too. I agree with you about marketing – I hate it too and what with my new job I’m doing next to nothing where that’s concerned at the moment!

So I’ll be interested to learn from you any marketing tips that you pick up on your writing journey. Happy New Year! ๐Ÿ˜€

  4. Happy New Year!!! I hope your 2015 is as fun, exciting, and liberating as your 2014 seems to have been. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I am glad you’re back and can’t wait to see what this year brings for you!

I understand what you mean about marketing. Can’t wait to see your new strategies for it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. Welcome to 2015 Mishka! I love your blog and look forward to it very much. I love reading your books, so keep them coming.

Being ready for the new year and getting organized is important. Now to see if you can keep that schedule. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • That is one thing about the start of a New Year- all those good intentions of getting organised, but then actually seeing it through! ๐Ÿ˜€

Hope the start of your year is awesome!

  6. Wonderful to have you back, Mishka, and Happy 2015! Looking forward to more of your great posts with that awesome sense of humour and excitement – change your schedule and plans all you want, but not that ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Good luck with your writing moving forward. And good luck with the marketing, too. There’s art to marketing, just like there is to writing, painting, etc. That thought’s helped me get more motivated for it, at least.

  8. It’s wonderful to have you back again, and it sounds like you had a tremendous break ๐Ÿ™‚ I have a good feeling about 2015 and I’m looking forward to hearing about all your developments.

    • I have a great feeling about this year too, I think we all worked hard enough last year to start seeing the results now! ๐Ÿ˜€

Hope you had a brilliant start to the new year ๐Ÿ™‚

    • There should be a ‘Like’ button at the bottom of the post, sometimes you have to click on the post title to get taken to the full page. There are usually a line of little pictures next to it of other people’s icons who have liked the post too ๐Ÿ™‚ Hope that helps!
