It’s Romance Weekly blog hop time!
If you’ve hopped over from A.S. Fenichel’s wonderful blog, then welcome!
So, this week, we’ve been asked- What quirky habits (superstitions, must haves, etc.) do you have while writing?
It’s an interesting question as I’m quite a compulsive person. A lot of the time I do need to have things certain ways in order to do them.
But I have to admit, I’m pretty easy going when it comes to writing. I will write pretty much anywhere and on anything 😀
I suppose it’s possible because my brain is constantly on writing, so it has to explode out no matter where I am or what I’m doing as it can’t contain it anymore!
Though, now thinking about, I do generally always have to have a cup of tea nearby!
Now pop on over to see what habits and quirks Eden Ashe, author of Ever Mine, has whilst writing!
Do you have any oddities or must haves during writing or the creative process?

I don’t have too many specific needs other than simply to write as well 🙂
It’s good when the words can just flow from you, wherever you are! 😀
Hehe, I find I can’t be picky if I want to get anything done. I’ll write whenever and wherever I can!
Very true, the more picky I am the less likely the task will actually get completed! 😀
Tea seems to be the theme today. =)
I call it writer’s fuel, it is for me anyways! 😀
Those are some great quirks Mishka! I especially like ‘writing anywhere and on anything’!! 😀
My writing space can sometimes be a complete and utter mess of notes scrawled on anything I can get my hands on 😀
I love it- I do coffee until dinner the switch to tea afterwards.
I sometimes have a coffee on a Saturday, but for me, tea is the thing that gets me through the day! 😀
I drink coffee in the morning, but tea in the afternoon. My latest fave is Numi organic Chocolate Mint. Great Post, Mishka
That sounds delicious! I’ve recently discovered white tea, as I’m not a fan of green tea, and it that has been working well 🙂
mmmmmmmmm tea. and hand-writing. how wonderful.
Tea really is a must when I’m writing 😀
I need my coffee feed to be pretty constant. Sometimes that break to make the coffee, gives me the headspace I need
I know, right? Taking the time to just walk away from work for five minutes to make a drink can really help just freshen your head a little!
Oh, I really like this question! I know a few writers who have some pretty interesting habits – like lucky underwear, a talisman, a special pen… I’m with you when it comes to quirky habits. I don’t really have any – though part of me wishes I did! 🙂
Maybe I should invest in a special pen or something, it would be nice to have some kind of quirk 😀
lol – it would…but what happens if you lost it!
A good point! 😀
Writing and tea go well together and one thing I realized is that I write best in the morning when it is quiet. I tried writing at a coffee shop and the library before, but I get easily distracted by the slightest sounds 🙂
